Sufco Mining Operation

Sufco is located in Sevier County, Utah approximately 30 miles northeast of Salina and 125 miles south of Salt Lake City. Sufco employs approximately 450 individuals and operates a longwall and three continuous miner sections.  The mine produces 3.5 to 4.0 million tons per year of high BTU, low sulfur coal.  Sufco is truck served with ability to reach local and international markets via access to local rail transloading facilities.

Location: 30 miles Northeast of Salina, Utah

Coal Produced: 3.5 Million Tons / Year

Skyline Mining Operation

Mine Type: Underground

The Skyline Mine complex is located in Carbon County, Utah approximately 45 miles northeast of Price and 120 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.  Skyline employs approximately 450 individuals and operates a longwall and three continuous miner sections.  The mine produces an average of 3 – 4 million tons per year of high BTU, low sulfur coal.  Skyline Mine is both rail and truck served with ability to reach local and international markets. 

Location: 30 miles Northwest of Price, Utah

Coal Produced: 4 Million Tons / Year

Mining Methods: Longwall & Continuous Miners

Fossil Rock Mining Operation

Fossil Rock Mine is located in Emery County, Utah approximately 13 miles northwest of Castle Dale and 164 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.  Fossil Rock Mine is currently plans to commence longwall mining in 2026 with likely annual production levels of 3 – 3.5 million ton per year of high BTU, low sulfur coal.  The mine will operate up to 3 continuous miners and a longwall system and employ over 300 individuals.  Fossil Rock Mine is truck served with the ability to reach both local and international markets via access to local rail transloading facilities.

Location: 10 miles West of Orangeville, Utah

Coal Expected: 55 Million Tons

Dugout Mining Operation

Dugout Canyon Mine is located in Carbon County, Utah approximately 12 miles northeast of Price and 147 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.  Dugout Mine is currently idle; however, it continues to serve our operation as a repair and maintenance site.

Mine Type: Repair and Maintenance

Location: 12 miles Northeast of Price, Utah

Hunter Prep Plant

Hunter Prep Plant is a transloading facility which accepts coal from Wolverine Fuels and third party companies and is blended to contract specifications and delivered to end customers.  

Mine Type: Blending & Storage

Location: 3 miles South of Orangeville, Utah

Coal Blended: 3.5 Million Tons / Year

Castle Valley Prep Plant

Castle Valley Prep Plant is located in Carbon County, Utah and is located on the southern edge of the town of Wellington.  Castle Valley Prep Plant has the ability to beneficiate coal from Wolverine Fuels operations.

Mine Type: Blending & Storage

SR10

SR-10 Coal Yard is located in Emery County approximately 10 miles southeast of the Sufco Mine.  The SR-10 yard is used to store coal produced at the Sufco Mine prior to being delivered to customers.
